This Privacy Policy explains how Kaylene Sylvia Ptd Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use Chef Sous ("the App"). Chef Sous is designed as a private recipe book for planning meals, storing recipes, and cooking with your own notes and photos.

1. Information You Add to Chef Sous

You may add recipes, ingredients, cooking steps, notes, meal details, categories, and photos of food or food preparation. This content is stored on your device using Apple's local app storage and local files. We do not operate a Chef Sous account system, and we do not run our own server for storing or viewing your recipes.

If you use device backup, iCloud backup, or other Apple system services, your device may back up app data according to your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policies.

2. Camera, Photos, and Recipe Import

Chef Sous can use your camera or selected photos when you choose to add food photos or import a recipe from an image. Images you save in the App are stored locally on your device. When you import a recipe from an image, Chef Sous uses on-device Apple features to recognize text and prepare a recipe draft.

Chef Sous does not sell your photos, publish them, or make them publicly available.

3. Analytics and Crash Information

Chef Sous uses Firebase services, including analytics and crash reporting, to understand product usage, improve features, measure app reliability, and diagnose crashes. This may include product interaction data, screen view events, import events, crash reports, device and app diagnostics, and similar technical information.

This analytics and crash information is not used by us to identify you personally, and Chef Sous does not use it for advertising tracking.

4. Subscriptions and App Store Purchases

Chef Sous offers optional subscriptions for unlimited recipe storage and additional features. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

The App checks your subscription status through Apple's StoreKit system so it can enable paid features for active subscribers.

5. Information We Do Not Collect

• Chef Sous does not require you to create an account or login.
• Chef Sous does not collect your recipes, recipe photos, or notes into our own database.
• Chef Sous does not provide public recipe sharing, public comments, or social profiles.
• Chef Sous does not use third-party advertising trackers.

6. Third-Party Services

Chef Sous relies on Apple services for local device features, camera access, photo selection, on-device text recognition, on-device intelligence features where available, and App Store subscriptions. Chef Sous also uses Firebase for analytics and crash reporting. These services process information according to their own privacy terms and policies.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your recipes and saved images remain on your device until you edit or delete them, delete the App, or remove them through your device storage and backup settings. Analytics and crash data retained by Firebase is handled according to Firebase's data retention settings and policies.

8. Children's Privacy

Chef Sous is a general cooking and recipe app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account system. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, contact us so we can review and respond.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of Chef Sous after a policy update means you accept the updated policy.
